1. โพลีเอทธิลีนชนิดความหนาแน่นต่ำ
เป็นพลาสติกที่มีความเหนียว ยืดหยุ่น ไม่ว่องไวต่อสารเคมี ขุ่น ป้องกันการผ่านของความชื้นได้สูง ป้องกันการผ่านของอากาศได้ต่ำมาก ทนความร้อนได้ไม่สูง ควรบรรจุด้วยวิธีบรรจุแบบเย็นเท่านั้น
2. โพลีเอทธิลีนชนิดความหนาแน่นสูง
เป็นพลาสติกที่มีความเหนียว ยืดหยุ่น ทนต่อการหักงอได้มากกว่าชนิดความหนาแน่นต่ำไม่ว่องไวต่อสารเคมี ขุ่น ป้องกันการผ่านของความชื้นได้สูงมาก ป้องกันการผ่านของอากาศได้ต่ำมาก ทนความร้อนได้เล็กน้อย ควรบรรจุด้วยวิธีบรรจุแบบอุ่น
3. โพลีโพรพิลีน
เป็นพลาสติกที่มีความแข็งแรง ทนต่อการหักงอได้ปานกลาง โปร่งแสง ป้องกันการผ่านของความชื้นได้สูง ป้องกันการผ่านของอากาศได้ต่ำ ทนความร้อนได้สูง สามารถบรรจุด้วยวิธีแบบร้อนได้
